The parents of a Utah man who died after being found inside an airplane engine two years ago are suing Salt Lake City, alleging that their 30-year-old son was able to walk through an airport's emergency exit doors and ended up on the tarmac before his death as he expierenced a mental health crisis.

They say their son was supposed to fly from Salt Lake City to Denver to visit his ill grandfather when he suffered a manic episode. During the episode, he “walked and ran down the moving walkways several times, including against the flow,” with behavior “objectively unusual for an adult.”

The parents of a man who died after climbing into the engine of a plane at Salt Lake City International Airport are suing the city, claiming security systems should have prevented his death.

The Barbour County Office of Emergency Management confirmed that a single-engine airplane crashed at the Philippi/Barbour County Regional Airport on Thursday afternoon. According to the Barbour County OEM,
